The Precision Scale™ Duo is built with precision technology from Acaia – a name that has become a hallmark of quality in the coffee world. Since 2013, Acaia has specialised in coffee scales used by baristas and coffee professionals around the world and is known for precision and fast response times.
Sage has now brought that expertise to the Precision Scale™ Duo. The scale measures with a precision of 0.1 grams and provides real-time information on weight, time and flow rate. This makes it easier to keep track of your coffee – whether the scale is used to weigh beans, dose ground coffee into the portafilter or monitor the brewing process itself.
When scale and machine communicate
The biggest innovation comes when the Precision Scale™ Duo is connected via Bluetooth to a Sage Oracle Jet or Oracle Dual Boiler. The scale and espresso machine then begin communicating with each other in real time.
The desired amount of espresso is set directly on the Oracle machine. The scale measures the espresso as it flows into the cup, the timer starts automatically from the first drops, and once the desired weight has been reached, the machine automatically stops brewing. Throughout the process, information on weight, time and flow rate is displayed on the machine's screen.
Two cups at once
The name Duo is no coincidence. The Precision Scale™ Duo features an extra-wide platform with room for two espresso cups side by side, allowing two cups to be brewed at once.
The wide platform also provides enough room to place a portafilter directly on the scale when dosing ground coffee – without the need for an additional tray. The included silicone mat provides a stable surface and can also be used as a tamping mat, while the reverse side provides a quick overview of the scale's functions.
Not just for Oracle
Although connecting to the Oracle Jet and Oracle Dual Boiler unlocks the automatic Brew-by-Weight functions, the Precision Scale™ Duo is not limited to these machines. It can be used as a standalone coffee scale across Sage's coffee range – and with other espresso machines – to weigh beans, check the dose in the portafilter or monitor weight, time and flow rate during brewing.
The Precision Scale™ Duo has a capacity of up to 2 kg, a backlit LCD display and a rechargeable battery via USB-C.
With the Precision Scale™ Duo, Sage brings greater precision to the entire coffee-making process – from dosing the ground coffee to the finished espresso in the cup. And when paired with compatible Oracle machines, the scale becomes an active part of the brewing process, making it easier to recreate the same great cup time after time.
