It is the compact successor to more than 100 years of professional mixing heritage from Danish manufacturer Varimixer. A new version is ready, but the story of the iconic bear began long before it found its way into home kitchens.
With roots dating back to Copenhagen in 1915, TEDDY builds on the experience and craftsmanship that have made Varimixer a well-known name in professional kitchens for generations. Its foundations were laid in environments where machines had to perform day after day under heavy loads. After generations on the market, that heritage continues to live on today.
Built for more than one generation
The story of TEDDY begins long before it found its way into home kitchens. It begins in professional bakeries and commercial kitchens, where machines worked from early morning until late at night, handling heavy doughs, warm working environments and constant demands. This is where the foundations of TEDDY were established. A compact stand mixer built on the same principles as Varimixer's professional solutions: strength, stability and durability.
The ambition was simple: to bring the reliability, mechanical quality and raw power demanded by professional kitchens into a format that could also work in the home. For many years, watts have been used as a measure of a stand mixer's strength. But wattage primarily indicates how much electrical power a machine consumes. Torque, on the other hand, describes the rotational force transferred to the mixing attachment and, ultimately, to the dough.

The next chapter is just around the corner
At the end of 2023, Witt Denmark A/S and Varimixer entered into an agreement covering the production and sales rights to TEDDY, bringing the iconic mixer into the Witt product portfolio. At the same time, it was renamed Witt Varimixer TEDDY – a name that brings together more than 100 years of professional mixing heritage with Witt's ambition to carry the story forward to new generations of bakers and food enthusiasts. But the story doesn't end here.
An updated Witt Varimixer TEDDY will soon be arriving in stores. Built on the same values that have made TEDDY something special for generations: calm strength, uncompromising reliability, precise power transmission and Danish design with professional DNA.
The new generation will be available in three models: 5.4 L, 7 L and 7 L PRO, with the latter designed for the professional market. It also introduces new colours and significant upgrades to both the construction and the motor. The result is a TEDDY that builds on its familiar foundations while being stronger than ever before.
Because when a machine is built on more than 100 years of experience, progress isn't about starting over. It's about taking the next natural step. The story of TEDDY isn't about nostalgia. It's about refining, improving and evolving without losing what made it iconic in the first place. TEDDY was never made to stand still. And that's why it isn't going into hibernation.
