The iRobot Genius™ interface is a redesigned iRobot Home App, which takes you far beyond standard app control to provide you with a personal and user-friendly control and command center. The app, which works with all Wi-Fi-connected iRobot products, supports cleaning based on your habits and personal preferences, enabling a smarter and more efficient cleaning experience. It also provides greater insight into the robot's cleaning performance.

Cleaning where you want it
Send your robot to clean dirt and messes right when and where they happen with Clean Zones. Using artificial intelligence, the Roomba i7/i7+ and s9/s9+ robot vacuums and Braava jet m6 robot mop use machine learning to automatically detect and proactively suggest Clean Zones around specific objects, such as sofas, tables, and kitchen counters. You can also customize your Smart Map by designating your own Clean Zones. This enables targeted cleaning in specific areas or around objects that frequently get dirty. Simply use the app or give a command to the voice assistant, "Roomba, vacuum around the sofa," and Roomba knows exactly where to go.
Cleaning when you want it
With iRobot Genius™, Roomba robot vacuums and Braava jet robot mop learn your preferred cleaning routines to offer you new features, such as:
- Event-based automations that let the robot know when the ideal time is to start or stop cleaning, based on reminders defined by you. Whether you're on the go, at work, or out for a walk, the iRobot Home app can use location-based services like Life360 or receive reminders from smart home devices, such as the August Wi-Fi Smart Lock, to know when you're away, and therefore start cleaning. Similarly, the robot can stop cleaning when you return. These automations can be set up directly in the iRobot Home app, an exclusive option for iRobot owners. The iRobot Home app is powered by iRobot Genius™ and IFTTT Connect. This means you can easily integrate iRobot Wi-Fi-connected products with your other connected devices and services, like smart thermostats and locks, without leaving the iRobot Home app.
- Recommended cleaning schedules are based on your more common cleaning patterns, such as cleaning on Monday mornings. The Roomba i7/i7+ and s9/s9+ robot vacuums and Braava jet m6 robot mop can also offer room-specific recommendations, like vacuuming the living room on Friday evenings, or the dining room and kitchen after meals.
- Favorites give you the ability to quickly create and access your own preset cleaning routines. Create favorites like "After Dinner," which instructs the robot to clean the dining room and the floor in front of the kitchen sink. Or "Bedtime" to clean the playroom and living room floor. Or "Everywhere" to clean the entire home.
Cleaning according to your needs
Wi-Fi-connected Roomba robot vacuums and Braava jet robot mop are continuously getting smarter, learning your cleaning preferences to understand how you want your home cleaned. New intelligence also means that iRobot products can go beyond basic scheduling to unlock new location-based and smart home device integrations.
- New recommended Keep Out Zones offer much more than just the ability to manually create Keep Out Zones. The Roomba i7/i7+ and s9/s9+ robot vacuums and Braava jet m6 robot mop can automatically learn to avoid trouble and thus recommend specific Keep Out Zones to you.
- Seasonal recommendations offer personal suggestions for automatic cleaning scheduling or suggest times when your home may need more frequent cleaning, such as when your pets shed a lot or during allergy season.
Custom cleaning powered by iRobot Genius™ Home Intelligence and the new iRobot Home app will be available to customers worldwide via a software update released on August 25, 2020.
