iRobot is back. The next era has begun. At the Appliances & Electronics World Expo(AWE) 2026 in Shanghai from March 12–15, iRobot participated as a Featuredexhibitor – one of the specially selected exhibitors at the show – therebyunderlining its strong return to the global stage.
Global stage for the future of smart home solutions
AWE is one of the world’s leading technology exhibitions with more than 1,200 participating exhibitors and serves as a global platform for the future of smart home solutions, AI-powered products and consumer electronics. Here, iRobot demonstrated how the company continues to develop and improve intelligent cleaning solutions with a focus on enhanced navigation, higher cleaning efficiency, better adaptation to the home and user needs, as well as a stronger user experience.
With the theme “Smart AI, Smarter Future,” the exhibition set the framework for future technological development - a focus closely aligned with iRobot’s strategy for both 2026 and the years ahead, where the development of the Roomba brand and intelligent solutions continues to accelerate.
Strong presence with a focus on technology and innovation
iRobot’s booth became a natural gathering point at the exhibition. With an exhibition concept under the theme “From Technological Pioneering to Real-World Application,” iRobot showcased its technological development through a special “Robot Vacuum Museum” exhibition.
Here, visitors could experience more than 30 years of the company’s work with robotics – from the first mass-produced Roomba® to models from different generations as well as previously developed prototypes. The exhibition provided a clear picture of iRobot’s development and role as a pioneer within robotic vacuum cleaners and attracted a wide range of industry partners, media and visitors.
“Participation at AWE 2026 marks an important step forward. It is a clear signal that iRobot is back – and that we stand strong with a clear direction for the future,” says Henrik Buur, Sales Director at Witt Denmark A/S.
New technology and innovation award at AWE 2026
As part of the exhibition, iRobot presented a new robot vacuum that builds on more than 30 years of experience in robotics and focuses on making cleaning easier and more efficient in everyday life.
The new model, iRobot Roomba® 615, is a further development of the well-known model of the same name and uses, among other things, AI and LiDAR technology. In practice, this means that the robot can better understand and map the home, recognize obstacles and automatically adapt its cleaning – for example by focusing more on areas with higher dirt levels or navigating more precisely around furniture and objects.
The robot is also developed for both vacuuming and mopping and is iRobot’s first AI-enhanced robot with pressurized spray mopping, which can increase cleaning efficiency by up to 40%. It combines high suction power with more thorough mopping and features that reduce the need for maintenance. For example, it can clean the mop during operation and adjust the cleaning level from room to room, allowing the user to rely on it to a greater extent.
The product was recognized at the exhibition with an AWE 2026 Innovation Award, underlining iRobot’s continued focus on developing solutions that combine advanced technology with real value in everyday life.
Three decades of innovation form the foundation for the next generation
At the same time, iRobot demonstrated how the company continues to develop its robot vacuums with significant improvements in intelligent navigation, cleaning efficiency, better adaptation to the home and user needs, as well as a stronger user experience. The solutions are developed with a focus on better understanding the home and delivering more efficient cleaning in everyday life.
Based on a pragmatic approach to technology, iRobot works purposefully to develop solutions that create real value in everyday life. The focus is on addressing concrete cleaning needs and making the experience more efficient, intuitive and hassle-free – rather than focusing on unnecessary complexity.
Strong foundation and clear direction for the future
iRobot’s return is based on a strengthened financial position and a new, stable ownership structure, supporting the company’s long-term ambitions. This provides a solid foundation for continued innovation, high quality and the development of intelligent cleaning solutions for consumers worldwide.
For customers and partners in mid- and Northern Europe, this means continued access to iRobot products through established channels and with the same high focus on quality, service and reliability.
“We see a clear strengthening of iRobot’s position – both globally and in mid- and Northern Europe. This creates confidence for our retailers and customers and provides a strong foundation for future development,” concludes Henrik Buur.
The future of intelligent cleaning is already underway
Since the launch of the first Roomba® in 2002, iRobot has helped define the market for robotic vacuum cleaners. With more than 50 million robots sold globally, the company continues its mission to develop intelligent solutions that make everyday life easier.
With its presence at AWE 2026, iRobot underlines that the company is not only back – but ready to shape the future standard for intelligent cleaning.
